These pictures were taken just outside Diablo, that river in the second pic is the Skagit.

I've heard "rumors" for years now but this is the first time I've seen pics of em. Always thought that it was decent enough habitat for them to survive, and maybe even thrive. Nice pics!!!

I have personally seen Whitetail east of Baker/west of Diablo/Ross lakes in the 80's. There was that cow and calf here in Bellingham/Ferndale for a while. There have been sightings of Moose at the north end/east of Baker lake for many years. Transients.  I have seen Mule deer west of the Pacific Crest trail/east of Ross lake on/near highway 20 this year. Much of that area of the northern interior be it park or national forest is quite untamed. It would not surprise me to see moose or even a Griz or two in that quadrant. Last year there was a cow elk north of the north fork Nooksack up by the equipment shed on Mount Baker highway. Critters wander. They get chased, they follow the food.

pretty straight forward explanation for a lot.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Thats cool! My brother and I did a bear hunt in the diablo unit 3 years ago. We had 3 bulls 50 yards from our tent. I couldn't believe my eyes.
