Getting desperate!
«

Getting closer to the end and havent scored yet. Done alot of hunting/hikeing. Anyone have a suggestion on where to go to find a bear? Never shot one yet, and it would be mean a great deal to me to get one.
Any help would be great. Dont want your spot just somwhere good to check out.

Go find their feed, blackberries, huckleberries, other types of feed too. If you are seeing scat, that's where they are. I saw lots of scat elk hunting, all in clearcuts, with low lying blackberries. I got mine Sat. up on a huck field where I've seen bear before. I figure about 1 week left till they start getting harder to find.

Where are you hunting? East or west side? Elevation?

Don't feel bad Tman and I have been hitting the hills hard to no avail. We saw one last week, no berries in sight. Good luck.

I found 4 bears tonight, and one was huge. Was getting close to dark and was by myself on a bike 2 miles behind a gate
I've yet to get one either but would have been a nightmare by myself.
If you're on the West side, lets go get em. Tons of berries and bear sign. I need a hunting buddy as I moved out here not too long ago and don't know too many peeps.

it can take time and persistance. i personally know people who have put in more then the 4 seasons i did before sealing the deal. be patient, hunt hard, and like everyone else said look for their food if your planning a spot and stalk.

Don't feel bad, tough luck up in the Okanogan this year too! Crazy weather made for a bad berry year. Orchards are likely the ticket right now, but with apple harvest starting this week many orchard owners I know are not likely to allow rifles onto their properties. They don't want any disruption to the harvest and there's just too much liability anymore. If you're hunting the east side there are plenty of plubic lands located above orchards, it's just a matter of locating them. Setup above an orchard along a brush filled coulee and you'll likely catch something heading in our out. Keep in mind on most maps orchards are depicted by light green areas with black dots throughout.

Think of it this way...the later the season, the better the hide/bear..
Good luck, im headed out for bear soon.
