One from a new guy here.

A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.
Ansel Adams

Thought I would ask you all about what you thought of this photo I took a couple years ago and the quote from Ansel Adams is one I really like.

No one will fully understand the significance of a great photograph nor its true meaning and emotion except the photographer, I have always said that a photo tells a story and it is the job of the photographer to tell the story in composition and detail but sadly most photos get looked at with little regard for what its true meaning really is !!

I often look at a photo and give it a name, this does 2 things, it makes me remember something about the photo and also causes a silent discussion about weather or not I see the same story in the image as the photographer did at the time it was taken !!

Excellent pic, I wish I could see scenery like that every night before I go to sleep !!

That's a real nice photo. Reminds me of how much I love the fall season. The colors, the weather, the smells, and of course, the hunting!

By far Fall is my favorite season, not only for the scenery but also the smells and sounds. Hearing the leaves fall on a quiet day is ... well there are no words to describe it and only one other sound comes close and that is snow falling on a quiet night.

I look at this photo a lot especially when it it isn't Fall LOL. One of the things I see is my youth because I grew up not far from this spot. I also feel the season, if that makes sense to anyone.

Thanks all for the kind words. Just the type of photo that makes me feel at home.

Here is another from the opposite season. This was in May of this year.

My second favorite season. Not as good of a photo but another one where I remember what life really is all about.

Most who live here or been here enough will know the spot at the top of Ophir Grade on old 97 looking north.

Serenity or peace of mind are the two things that jump out at me in the first pic.

growing up fishing seemed to be my escape from life as it seems to be now as well, that first picture really brings that back the world just seems to stop turning no one is bugging you the phone isnt ringing and the only thing that matters is waiting for that bobber to get yank under

both are great pics thanks for sharing

Upland those are some of the best things about Fall is the true peace of mind you can get. It makes the world not seem so bad and time to reflect on how you have lived.

Fishing does that same thing and yes it is just time for you the river and the fish, what else matters at that moment.

Robos first sentence is probably the dead truth.

In my mind there is no rustling of the leaves in this pic, but the dead silence of fall, no bugs, just the sound of a distant moose grunt coming in.

Funny you say something about hearing a distant sound like a moose etc. Right after I took the photo I heard a pair of bald eagles doing their vocalization and if you look real real close on the left side there is a large dead branch with an eagle on it that I did not see until a friend pointed it out to me.

It amazes me about how people who do not hunt or fish complain about it being desolate here in the Okanogan. I believe that just don't know how to appreciate the true beauty it has. Brown doesn't equal drap, at least not to me. Just another form of beauty.
