Chelan Deer Hunting
« on: September 06, 2010, 06:58:29 PM »
Hey guys,

Has anyone hunted the echo valley ridge area?  I have looked on the GMU map and I am having a hard time seeing what unit it is.  I have previously hunted western washington in the thick brush for blacktail deer so this will be a different type of hunting for me.  Is there any advice you guys can give me as far as tactics go getting these Mulies?

Echo Ridge is between Chelan and Manson in GMU 243 MANSON.
Good luck up there.

Pretty sure Manson isn't open early archery is it?  Unless you are referring to another hunt, of course...

I think Alta (242) is open.

Manson is open for early archery but echo valley is fairly low elevation. Wouldn't expect to see a lot of deer there at this time of year. Is also 3 point or better buck only. No does

Yeah, you're right about 243, sorry about that.  3 point minimum but open.  That's what I get for trying to go from memory.

Also, sorry if you were hunting it and I just made you crap your pants.  Not my intention.

Just got back from that area this weekend. Deer population is down and that area is more of a migration area but like any where else there are always a few local deer.
