I've got an elk antler and wanna clean it up, stain it and then turn it into a hat rack.  Does anyone know the best way to gently clean up the antler?

I like to use a medium bristlled scrub brush and the garden hose. It'll scub off the mud and moss real well. It will also take off some color if you spend to much time in one spot, but your going to stain it anyway. Post some pics when your done.
