Wild Turkey Research
« on: September 29, 2010, 09:19:26 AM »
Turkey Hunters we need your help! Donate the crops of your harvested birds to help better understand the role turkeys play in NW ecosystems.

Oregon State University in cooperation with ODFW, WDFW and USFS with support from the National Wild Turkey Federation and Oregon Hunters Association are conducting a 2-year research project to determine the diet of wild turkeys in Oregon and Washington.

All you need to do is remove the crop from each bird you harvest in the fall and spring, freeze it and drop it off at any ODFW/WDFW office. Prepaid envelopes can also be requested.

For more information and a step by step on crop removal visit:

Thanks for the support!

We are collecting crop through the fall and spring so next fall we should have our final results.  I just finished the annual report for WDFW/ODFW but am waiting to finalize a draft.  When it's done I can forward it on to you if you'd like.
Thanks for the interest and support!
