Good luck! Used to hunt the Heppner/Ukiah units for deer, just not seeing near as many on our place anymore. Just a lot of elk, and now starting to see whitetail

We're back. Had some truck problems on the trip and had to cut the trip short. Ended up killing the next two bucks we saw after we had the truck problems and had decieded that we were heading home in the mourning. Dad got a little 3x4 and i got a 2x2. Only saw a couple ok bucks. One was a nice 4x4 about 24" wide and the other was a 3x4 that was about as wide. They were together on another ridge and we were watching them through the spotter, coming up with a plan to get after them in the mourning since it was almost dark. I let my dad look through the spotter at them and he said they spoked. Then we heard the shot. Someone shot the 4x4 while we were looking at them.
All in all it was a good trip. The only part that wasn't fun was the 85 degree temps opening day. I'll get some pics up later. Maybe tonight. I'll also post some pics of some bucks that were head mounted in a little store we stopped to get fuel at one day.

Here is another one that was in the store. I couldn't get very good pics of these deer because the store was so small I had to almost stand right under them.

All of the animals in the store had been shot by the husband and wife that ran the store. I believe they said everything had been shot in the last 15 years.

Congrats on your bucks! The temps were awful on Saturday. The thermometer in the suburban said 92 deg at 1 o'clock Saturday. Hard to stay hydrated! I could not carry enough water! I ended up with a 2x2 Sunday morning. Lots of deer and bucks seen by all my family. What town was the store in?? Those were some huge bucks!

The town is called Unity. You will have to check the spelling on that.

That is the Unity Store and gas station. Bunch of hogs on the walls. Also some real pictures of some of the past bucks killed in the area. Congrats on the bucks!
So how did the trip pan out? Did you end up hunting public or private?
I will post some pics of my buddies bucks later, also from the Beulah unit.

We only hunted public. We saw a ton of deer on some of the private property.

Yes they were. They still worked hard for them and he said they didn't see as many deer this year.
