So far not so good......Runners and long shots just aint what I expected.  I can tell that my dog aint too happy w/me.   And Aint is a word I use it all the time.

We went out this weekend also. My buddies dog kept looking at me like I was an idiot. 25 arrows only one hit, but no knock down. My buddy shot 7 arrows downed 3. I got discouraged so took one off a limb with the compound instead of the recurve.

In an effort to reduce a long shot I'm having the dog work close. This minimized the amount of flushes drastically and the birds are still kickin my tail.  So I'm not completely giving up but I'm going to use the scattergun next time out to leave something in it for my four legged hunting partner. Just a little update, 11 shots taken in 4 trips to field. 0 birds taken in 4 trips to field. Momma's hungry. Dog's tired. Dads frustrated but lovin it.
