Peruvian Model 1935 Mauser
« on: October 04, 2010, 11:02:48 AM »
I have been taking my nephew out hunting for this being the 5th year now and since he has outgrown the youth size .243 we bought for him my father in-law (his grandpa) gave us his old 30-06.  It is an old Peruvian 1935 that has been sporterized.  It has a Bushnell Banner 4x scope on it and I have to say I was really surprised with this rifle.  It looks nice, isn't all that heavy and shoots really nice too.  Who ever did the work on it did a nice job with the trigger.  It breaks very crisp at just under 3lbs.

Anyone else have one of these?

I looked real hard at a sporterized 98' chambered in 25-06 with a timney trigger this spring. Those old rifles can be really nice!
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I have a sporterized mauser in 7x57 with a cheaper 3x9 scope I used to deer/elk hunt with absolutely love it but ammo is getting pretty spendy so decided to go with my remmy 760 .30-06 pump which is still fairly cheap in my neck of the woods.
Some animals WERE harmed in the making of this Hunter. They were also dragged through the dirt, butchered and tasted delicious fried with butter and bacon.
