I'd go with the SPS. Contrary to what was said above, it does come with the X Mark Pro trigger. I have one and its there. Also, with that $250 price difference you can buy a different stock for it, like an Alaskan Ti style Bell & Carlson.
Got my SPS early this year so is either a '10 or '09 model I'm guessing. Just looked on their site and maybe they got rid of it on the SPS and are putting it on the more expensive rifles now? The SPS info doesn't say it is available, but when looking at the trigger page it says it is now standard on 700 rifles. http://www.remington.com/sitecore/content/Remington/pages/xmark-pro-trigger.aspxSame as on mine, don't even need to take it out of the stock to adjust it.
Save your money and put it towards a sako or at least a tikka. Sako 7mm mag with a nightforce scope..........oooooweeee. You'll be sniping you're game from the adjacent ridge.

Tikka WAAAAAYYY to much plastic for my taste, pretty ugly to boot. Plus I like to get as close as possible before I shoot, less walking to do! But I like the way you think, Maybe I should get both!!!!!
All right, I decided this weekend and got it! I went with the 700SPS Stainless, It did have the X-mark pro Trigger. That is what pushed me in that direction. Along with not having to worry about a safe queen with the wood. I put a Vortex Viper 3-9x40 scope on it with leopold rings and bases. $40 rebate on the rifle, lifetime no fault warranty on the scope. I'm pretty happy with the feel so far. I'll be working up some handloads for it soon! Thanks for all of your opinions, ideas and 2 cents!!!!
