he also sells all the gear you are talking about. i am a member of a fourm that is a bowfishing fourm there is a lot of mixed views about the light strike laser. it not for me but the people i know who have shot it have said good things.

as far as the points go. i love the garpoons but they are kinda a pain to re-lock everytime. try the innerloc points they have a wire point and a 2-3 blade grapple that is the best point i have ever shot. i have shot them all.

the rest you are referring to is the muzzy fish hook a very good rest that i shoot myself. all my client bows and other bows have the ams roller rest. very simple easy to use rest. the reason i do not have the fish hook's on them is because there is a little more of a chance to have the line get caught on the hook if you are not watching what you are doing. very solid rest i think i have 6 of them to the 1 muzzy.

my platform is 26" tall i know guys that have 5' tall platforms. i would say minimum would be 20" max would be 35" depending on the boat. if you go to the gallery pages on backwater and extreme you will see lots of pics to get examples from. also go to ams and look at all their pics. they have a whole area of just boat setups.

the jaguar is a good bow for the money but they are known for a lot of handshock and vibration. you can tone this down with the limbsavers and a grip wrap as well.

i also like the ams slides better then the rings myself. both work but have had a little better luck with the slides.

Best advice is to keep playing and learn what works best for you!  I personally don't use sights as far as the sight question.  Find that too many shots are on the move and I just point and release.  It's amazing after a few trips how well it comes together and you will be amazed at how well you can shoot instinctively without even looking down the arrow!  Platform height?  Whatever you feel safe with as far as not flipping your boat.  How many people and how rough of water would be my questions.  Seen 2 flatbottoms sunk/rolled over the last 2 years due to too many people up front/running the outboard at the same time.  Visibility increases with height, but so does the distance climbing up and down to retrieve fish as well as the number of fish lost pulling them out of the water that high.  The best lights so far that I have found for the platform are the metal halide lights.  Draw less power giving you a quieter generator performance and you can run more of them.  They produce better and more light than your standard halogens drawing 3 times the wattage.  Problem is that they are 25-30 bucks a pop for the bulbs and about 100 for the light itself.  Well worth it if you have a honda generator and plan on charging batteries off of the same generator.  Any other specific questions I will be more than happy to give you my advice.  Sometimes slow to get on here so it may be a week or a month or something like that by the time I get back to you!  Best of luck and keep the population in check!

'Sully's Bowfishing Stuff' is a good place to get equipment and advise as well. I have a bass boat with gunnels I use most of the time now, but still have a 10' Livingston I used for many years to get a whole lot of carp. The double hull is really stable. I will stand with one foot on the center section and one foot on the gunnel and lean out. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING ANYONE TRY THIS, JUST SAYING WHAT I DID. BE SAFE! How was that for a disclaimer? I just picked up a 12' Port-A-Bote for this next season to haul on the Travel Trailer that I am really excited about trying.
I use a compound, but just about any bow will work. My standard is 'the less crap you have on the bow the better.' No sight. Whisker biscuit rest, Retreiver reel, Muzzy tipped glass arrows, but there is a lot of different equipment that works fine. I think you will find most bowfishing folks are pretty helpfull. Sully's is no longer in business. He sold out to Bryan from backwater bowfishing. I use to get some stuff from Sully's. Bowfishing Extreme is where i get all my stuff now. I am friends with Scott the owner of bowfishing extreme. I do a few tests on some new gear, from time to time for him. Great people!
