Hey guys.....what distress calls do you usually use for bear?  I've never tried to call em in.....but figured what the hell, may as well give it a shot.

we have always done well with fawn distress. if you are in a area that has a high elk population you can do very good with a calf elk call.

try and get a hold of bearman ric. he has production calls and custom calls for bear,bobcat and yotes. he can tune your call for bear calling. his website is rr.calls.com. he is a sponsor here. he is in michigan right now send him a email or give him a call. his calls are great. i have tried the store calls. but his are 100 times better.  i have 4 of his calls  :IBCOOL:

We've always stuck with the fawn call, if nothin else they'll call in a coyote  :)

I've called in three with a javelina distress call.   :chuckle:   I like a really coarse call.

Remember, animals are curious and will come to a variety of calls for a variety of reasons. Never be afraid of trying something new.

I use all hand calls now,got rid of the electronics...cottontail,jack,fawn.But Im really like the cub sounds I do with my voice and a grunt tube
