deer hunting around conconully
« on: October 06, 2010, 04:30:51 PM »
My 11 year old son just finished hunter safety and he wanted to hunt deer around the conconully area. does anyone have any suggestions of good locations for him to see some deer. We vacation up there in the summer but have never been hunting there. If that area does not work we may go out by Dayton

I've never hunted around Conconully, but I have around Dayton.  Lots of deer and lots of other hunters.  Opening weekend is the best and then the deer seem to vanish.  Lots of feel free to hunt land and lots of hunting only by written permission land also so do some scouting first.

Try the scotch creek wildlife area, you'll see alot of hunters but they keep the deer moving.hunt the north side of the Hiway. Get to a good vantage point before daylight and stay till 10 or 11
