The owners Christian. Witt and *censored* are jokes my son and I guided for them this year they don't know anything about archery hunting and very little about anything elsep especially how to take care of clients. Let me say first I'm veryproud of my 18 yr old son he called 13 bulls in clients had 8 shots and one 5by5. And now off to the navy in December. Now back to timbeghost outfitters they are a joke. Between the miles of road hunting no calling skills and client's finding pot pipes in their boots from them dropping it there coming back in the tent late.I was totally embarrassed. I found out the only elk Brian shot was on the camp Bonneville base in a fence a tame 320 bull and got a ticket for being in there and Christian had his house raided and most of his animals taken from a out of state poaching charge. ..stay away from them

OK?  sorry for your experience but this may not be the best way to deal with the problem.  Your comments are all over the place and hard to understand. Can you explain it better?  And there are two sides to every story so I reserve judgement to individuals who automatically start naming names and pointing fingers..just saying.. :twocents:

christian witt, and his dad are notorious outlaws.  Do a google search

~busted in BC for non licensed fishing guiding
~busted in Idaho for big game poaching (a compact state, so I'm pretty sure he has no legal hunting rights in any western state)

~still guides on the Columbia without a Coast Guard license.
~still advertises at Puyallup sportsman show

It's amazing these guys are still in circulation afterr so many years of outlaw behaviour.  Too bad you got caught up in their mess.

The grammar in the OP is a joke.  I can often overlook poor grammar, but in this case, the meaning of the sentences are confused. Also, I really wish people would learn to use proper punctuation.

A guy might want to take a look at the reputation of a outfitter before he jumps on board.  Great way to make a bad name for yourself, and better yet, wind up in trouble with the law.  Just a thought.

Your right mtn muley that's why we are done and letting people know. We just didn't know until we were working for them for awhile. We did meet some great people though and had great experience hunting with people from different places across the country

I hunted down there with a couple friends.  We heard that the guys from timber ghosts were guiding some hunters from Utah that had been sublet from Wapiti Creek Outfitters.  Every morning I guess these guys would drive down from some cheesy RV park or an Econo Lodge, and meet up with the folks from timber ghosts.  The biggest problem everyone else had, was that the Timber Ghosts army would just chew up the tiny little Yale unit and completely freaked the Elk out.  We heard that one Elk was taken, but by a guy guided by a local that was just helping these jokers out.
I just saw too many hunters.  Again.

So I am just curious. If they are such outlaws how can they even get a license for a business. Especially a license in a feild that they have broken the law in?
If its brown knock it down

Wow, these guys have quite the shady track record

All the more reason to do your research when it comes to guides/outfitters I guess

Thanks for the heads up bigbeam, good luck to your son

Unfortunately there is no hunting guide license requirement for WA and as long as the Witt isn't hunting himself there is nothing enforcement can do about it.  :bash:  This is just as frustrating to the enforcement officers as it is you and me.

ON the fishing side of things we are required to buy a state guide license and are required to be USCG licensed for any passenger for hire business on navigable waterways.  WA state however does not require proof of the USCG license before issuing the state license (like OR does).  The Wits get away with that because our state doesn't check...this is why you don't see OR stickers on his boat.  He also ducks the USCG by hiring a kid with a Limited OUPV license to "run the boat" while he is "deckhanding"...ya right.

USCG license requires an FBI level 1 background check, something Mr. Witt will never be able to pass given his criminal history.

Although his tremendous reputation proceeds him there seem to be plenty of customers who either don't do any research or fall for his 'guaranteed' discount fishing and hunting guide services.

As you can tell, he is loathed by the legal guide community and law enforcement in OR, WA, ID, and British Columbia.
