The draws off of Road 38. Not much hunting pressure but there's a few deer there.

Why pass up great hunting areas for ones you have locally if your in Castle Rock??  Stand a few feet behind your deer and they will also look like monsters.   :chuckle:
Cut em!

Yeah... If I lived in CastleRock, I'd be hunting Blacktail in the Saint Helens area. Skamania... The biggest BT I ever saw come out of there. Or hell.. hunt BT in the Willipa hills and learn the area for Elk.

But if you want to hunt the Nooksack Elk herd some day.. Hunt BT by walkin in at the main gate at Cabin Creek road, Lyman. There's bucks up there. Be prepaired to put on the miles. Hunt it like you were going on a high buck hunt. Backpack or horse pack in. Sierra Pacific will not open the gates for you.  Be prepared for RAIN.

Good luck to you nimrod. That's what I like to hear ....someone wanting to learn an area BEFORE they draw tags. You get a big thumbs up from me.

By the way....my great grandads name was Nimrod.
Just one more day
