Toutle Bull Tag
« on: October 08, 2010, 07:50:28 PM »
Hello to all.  My dad who is 72 drew a toutle bull tag.  He has killed many elk in his day, with the biggest being a smallish 4x4.  He is fairly limited with his mobility, and I was wondering where we might concentrate our efforts.  I can push timber patches while he sits and waits for elk to file out.  He still shoots well, looking forward to time with dad and watching him shoot a bull.  Any help will be greatly apprecitated.

The Toutle is actualy a pretty big unit, lots of promissing areas. With limited mobility it might be an issue though, the upper Kalama around Pigeon springs area seems to useualy have a few elk hanging around and is relativly flat. Aside from that way up the south fork toutle towards the 3000 line would offer alot of glassing, the Noble firs are still kinda small and sparce making the elk abit more vissable, but the shots alittle longer.

I was there early archery. If they open the 4100 line would concentrate in there, lots of bulls off the 5300 line.
