monocular vs. binoculars

When using binoculars, I tend to close one eye anyway. Someone please tell my why I shouldn't just save some money and buy a monocular? Smaller and easier to carry and less expensive. Are binoculars really that much more important?

what kind of binos do you use and what causes you to close one eye? I know this, if you have good bino's.....you want to look through them.

The worst part about monoculars is the lack of options. You can get all kinds of binos, but very few manufacturers seem to make suitable hunting monoculars. Most are really small with small lenses.

I think with binos you have more field of vision view. You can see more area instead of a pin point type of vision with a monocular. I might be wrong so correct me. I don't want to give the wrong info.

I like binoculars for its 3-D vision effect. There is not many quality monocular there. Only decent ones from big names cost $500 and more. The one I am interested in trying is the new ZRS HD 10x monocular. I like their binoculars. wondering whether the monocular is as good as their binos

You will cut your field of view way down, the only real advantage is the compactness.I have one 10x but donot use it much,i have lots of binos, they are just a backup when i donot want to carry binos.
