2nd deer tag, Gardner unit, antlerless whitetail doe...tips?
« on: October 10, 2010, 09:28:10 PM »
Know the Thompson ridge, little Bridge creek, elbow coulee, frost road areas very well having hunted there since my youth the past 40 years.
drew the above tag for modern and after 2x scouting trips in the low country (along the twisp river, Poorman creek road up to War creek), only whitetail doe spotted is on river valley private land...posted NO HUNTING.
haven't purchased the 2nd tag yet but will need to soon, if I can deem it worth a chance.

any other tips for the Gardner unit for lower country anterless whitetail?
any PM's also appreciated.

but have spotted some dandy bucks using my Swarovski just from the river road on those scouting trips. But I'll leave those for the modern opening day crowds and hunt higher country for a muley buck. But would be nice to switch gears if successful on muley and move low for a change to fill the 2nd tag.

thank you, MAV
