Machete recommendation

After digging my last two pheasants out of the blackberries    I decided I need to carry a machete on west side bird hunts.  Anyone have a recommendation on a good sturdy, light weight one, and where to buy it?

Ontario Knife makes a good machete and their priced reasonably. You'll want a sheath and that will probably run you more than the actual machete. You might consider a small pruning shear instead. Would be a little easier to carry.

Check out the fiskar ( or Gerber) brush cutter.  I modified one and made a sheath for it too.  check out this thread on it - there is more info on the build in another thread referenced there.  The regular brush cutter unmodified works great as is, pretty light too.  Fab a sheath, and you'd be good to go.

check out the woodsmans pal, its a machete in theory but not the  conventional design. my dad gave me one years ago and it works great ive used it to clear brush and even chop firewood for camp. not sure what they run but they are worth a look

Yep,the Gerber brushcutter works well beyond what you think it would.
