I think that really depends on the height of your scope above the bore, no?

Ok, you got me on that one but assuming you have a 1.5-2" sight height you will be very close at 100 if dead on at 25 yards.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

I don't know, it's been so long since I've done any shooting at 25 yards with a high power rifle. For some reason 35 yards sticks in my head as the range I'd want to zero my rifle if I didn't have a 100 yard range to shoot at. I normally sight in 2 1/2 inches high at 100 yards.

We boresight at 25 yrds.
My gun was 1/2 in left at 25 yrds. 8 clicks right and I was shooting connecting holes 1/8 in rt of bull center and 1" high at 100 yrds.
i can live with that.

I was told dead on at 25 yrds, gives you close to dead on at 200 yrds, due to the rise( 25yrds) and fall (200yrds) of the bullet trajectory , using a 150 gr  30-06.
 True or false?

Actually it is closer to 250 yds.  The bullet crosses line of sight at 25 and then again at around 250.  My dad told me a long time ago that was a method he was taught in the army.

Range   Velocity   Impact
0             2900   -1.5
25             2830   0.04
50             2766   1.31
75             2704   2.3

150             2523   3.41
175             2464   3.11
200             2407   2.46

I was way off...lol dead on at 25 is more like 4 inches high at 100..

I think the army method was what i was told too.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

I use the Hornady Ballistics calculator, if you are reloading it is fairly accurate. I use it to see where I want to zero, then shoot other yardage and see how close it really is.
