Why Iceman?

Our own WDFW uses leg hold traps to "catch and release" our precious and "endangered' wolves.

I don't believe we want this type of pics put on here to give additional info to the anti's cause.

Guys then maybe we ought to not have trapping at all  :dunno: this is trapping and these traps are used the anti's will find ammunition and if they dont find it they will stage it so really I dont see the harm.  The 7mag to the coyote is a little nastier looking in my opinion ;) but still it is real life you will never be able to clean up hunting enough for an anti it isn't possible so no reason to get uptight about it.

actually its a great way to dispell the myth about these traps...The animals are released with zero harm,no chewed off legs as the left would have you believe..Guess perhaps we should use butterfly nets...Snares that are used have stops on them so none targeted animals can walk out of them,or break them..

I think these pictures will get used by antis in a negative way no matter if the critters were released unharmed, My personal opinion is they should not be posted but its just an opinion, and yes I support trapping, its just some things are better left in the dark. :twocents:

I agree with run and rasbo. I'm sick of changing my ways in order to appease anti's. Screw em they'll find all they ammo they want regardless. Or they will make it up. I say leave it

almost every post on this site has to do with the harvesting of wildlife,in many ways.Trappers do the country a good service in many ways..As do hunters. Many furbearers cause very expensive damage to,ranchers, roadways, fish populations, pets and humans.Trapping is a very good and usefull tool to try to keep these nuisance animals at a sustainable level.I more than most love to see these animals in their natural surroundings, but I also see they need to be managed..As people keep breeding and spreading out, more and more habitat is affected and so the battles start..sound strict management is a great tool and I think traps are the ultimate tool in management.

I just DO NOT get these kind of posts on here! Who gives a SH*T what the anti's think about these pics. Trying to keep these things "in the dark" is whyy alot of people don't understand hunting or trapping. The "left" is a very LOUD group and when we bite our tounge and keep things under our hat, there are alot of people, "on the fence" left to decide on what they HEAR. Until just now, I myself didnt know that an animal caught in a leg trap could be released unharmed. Inform the uninformed and then let themm decide. This group of whacos have drowned us out for too long...I think it is time for US to get LOUD!  :twocents:

I too think it needs to be out in the open. Keeping it under the rug justs shows the antis that we are not a collective group in all that we do with the outdoors. And they can single out one group and silently and slowly take them out.

huntinglonewolf, you need to get a pic of yourself petting one of the unintentional catches and singing hakuna matata together...That will sort the anti's!

On the antolope I put my catch pole on them and sit on them as they are very tame, Take the trap off then the catch pole and get off of them and they jump up and run away. The deer was very tame as I was going to use my catch pole but it just stood there so I put my arm around it's neck and stood on the levers of the trap and it pulled it's hoof out and I let it go.

I don't believe many of the trapping forums would allow pictures of this type. I have mixed feelings. People should know it doesn't happen often and when it does it's not the end of the world. Yes animals are released from traps all the time and no reason to think the traps cause any damage. I myself released an elk one time. Only result was my set was ruined. Especially the new traps are very animal friendly.

Been thinking about it and I'm leaning towards the pictures not being shown. Sorry, Huntinglonewolf, Nothing against you. I just think the pictures could be taken out of context and used against us. Your thoughtful comments are helpful but if the pictures show up sans them it looks bad.

Nothing against you hump. But I'm just sick and tired of all this PC scared of the boogey man crap. By not being able to enjoy all aspects of our tradition and always worrying about anti's means the anti's won. I'm mean come on what are they going to do? Ban leg hold traps? They already did that. We are letting the anti's win and losing our heritage a little at a time. I for one am going to enjoy what I have and what I love screw em. Sorry for the rant its been building up for some time now.

The best defense is a great offense. This post shows how traps really work, and that the WDFW uses the damn things! I also Proves to me that I was wrong... Most real men do not live in ID or Montana like i thought they did, they live in Wyoming.  Who else has bounties on coyotes and are willing to tell the Feds to pound sand when it comes to wolves?   :bash:

It's are cattlemens association that pays the bounty as the have alot of calves that are killed by coyotes. Everyone is always talking about bounties running out. Well last year they stated with 31,679.00 to pay bounties and only bountied 623 coyotes for the whole year. They get there mony from the ranchers that they charge a percent for every cow, calf and bull sold. So anytime they sell a percent comes out and goes to the bounty. I have been in wy. a little over 3 years and never have once sen the bounty run out.

The pics should stay...tired of bending over backwards to be PC.

Tired of keeping my mouth shut every time my university class has a discussion about new ways to extend "social services" to criminals..

Tired of listening to people label Christians and Outdoorsmen as a bunch of ignorant racist rednecks...

If we don't make a stand now, all of the things we live and love will go away.

the more info out in the open, the better in my opinion. I have found trying to hide facts about anything in life only makes you look guilty. That s exactly what the libs want is for US to look guilty and if you want to not be showing pics of trapped animals or even PICS WITH BLOOD IN THEM...I mean COME ON GUYS!!!! These bunch of left wing panty waist wolf lovin idots have already got you on your heels and are making a joke out of the whole hunting community!!! GROW A PAIR!!  :bash: >:( :bash: >:(

i think the pics should stay, but they do leave a little to be desired and i can fully see how the anti's could use them in their propaganda, not bashing you huntinglonewolf i think what you do is wicked cool and would really like to get into trapping.

i think that these situations could be a very usefull just need a camera guy there with you to record a successful zero harm release, but then again you live in a cool state and dont have to defend you actions
