Nice Rubbles! How long are the beams on that bad boy? Must be pushing the upper 50's?

Thanks everyone for all the comments.  Much appreciated.  As you can see the bull is a 7x8 and green scores 390" (gross) as a typical.  It holds its net score pretty well.  We'll see how he holds up after the 60 day drying period.  Probably not going to have time to write a story this week since I have been away from the house hunting moose, bear and elk for several weeks and opening deer for my boys this weekend.

All I can say is that it wasn't your typical elk hunt!

What exactly is a "Typical Elk Hunt"....  I don't think I've ever seen two elk do the same thing in my life... :chuckle: (I think that's why no one hunts them out of treestands.. :dunno: )

The bull was officially scored this week by Todd Peyser.  It is the new WA State record Typical muzzleloader bull.   The gross score was 394 and the net score was 381 4/8".

I had never seen this bull anywhere in the area prior to the night before the opener.  It was a sleepless night.

The real shocker was poking my head over a bush and coming face to face with him at 20 yards.  Talk about an adrenalin pump!
