When i hunted Upland last year I had to put e collar on my female.  When she gets a idea of chasing something, she mutes all else out.  I nicked her once, and now all I have to do it put the collar on, but I dont turn it on.  I still feel bad about nicking her though :'( :( Luckily my male lab will listen without a issue, and I think that playing catch with both dogs daily has strengthed my hand commands, and there ability to listen to them as well.
Rather be dead than cool.
