Glad you finally had an arrow connect.  Congratulations. I solo, too.  It is great to hear that others come to the rescue when an elk is down.  I haven't been able to connect on one yet, but when I do, I just pray that my boys are old enough by then to help, or some other hunter lends a hand. 
Expect excellence, but don't require it!

Nice work, I had the same thing happen with my hunt last year and was saved by the calvary.  I'm glad to see us bowhunters taking care of each other.  Did you share the wealth with them too ?  It's an amazing amount of work isn't it ?

True! Us bow hunters need to stick together...   :) I have contact info.  None of them live close so I have to find the time to bring some goods there way, but there is some meat with their names on it.
