So my wife just called me and said that when she gets off work (at 3:00 am she works swing) she wants to drive out into the woods, camp in the back of our Cherokee, and go hunting in the morning.  Man I love this woman!!!! :whoo:  What are your similar experiences???
I was muzzy deer hunting for the weekend and my wife called to see how it was going.  I wanted to stay and get my buck but was feeling guilty that she was stuck at home with the kids and business.  She told me to stay as long as it took to get a good buck.  At the end of the conversation she said don't you come home without some meat.           That's why I married her gentleman.

My new girl pushs me to go hunt. She has got me out the door a few times and normaly goes with me. Its nice having a partner that supports your hobbie. She even shots a little and man Ill tell you she can flat shot for never handling a gun before. At 300yds she nails the gong every time and has only shot a rifle 3 times :o

Is it better to have a wife that's goes with you or stays at home?  My wife will not go at all but sometime I wouldn't mind her tagging along.

I guess it all depends on whether or not she get along with your girlfriend.

My wife and kids are my favorite hunting partners.  She likes to hunt just as much and as hard as I do.

Years ago I learned to hunt alone.

I didn't have to run my schedule to other folks, never had to wait for nobody, got to go anywhere I wanted, or not. Its was always peaceful.

I've gotten Married since then, and have a passel of kids.
Its quite a bit more work these days, getting loads ready, ammo loaded enough for practice, or just fun, purchasing the gear is killing my paycheck, heck I don't get much time to shoot myself. BUT! There isn't a moment it isn't worth every second.

My wife goes with me when she can, the boys go now when she can't. She's bought me some damn nice equipment, maybe better than what most have even heard of. She practices shooting with me, even a small competition between her, me, and the boys keeps us all trying hard.
We all motivate each other, I get to watch my son's grow, their personalities form, my Wife's growing wisdom about shooting and hunting rivaling my oldest son's.

Family is where its at.
Once you get over the youthful "burning over the hills", you learn about family.

And Fore-most, you need an understanding Wife, one that enjoys being with you, even if its in the North woods at below zero temps.

That beats everything else, and is the beginning to the rest.
Watch those sunsets boys....then glance over and smile at the wife that is there to enjoy it with you.

When I met my wife she was a college cheerleader and had never even thought of going hunting. This is now her second season hunting and she is a trained assasin! 8)
Oh, she also agreed to go on a hunting trip for our honey moon! So, I am going to have to go ahead and claim I have the best wife! ;)

This is her Bear from this year. (her first rifle kill)

Yeah, I think she's worth keeping around! :) Have a fantastic time!
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! my wife lets me buy anything I want for hunting because she knows how much I love it and miss it. She makes sure to know which spot im at and what im wearing just in case I get hurt, shot, or molested by a cougar. Its things like this that make relationships work.

This line really stuck out to me.

I hope one day to find a companion who will be there with me and enjoy every second of it.

Wow, great line! Makes me feel the same way. I went hunting this year with out the girl and I still had fun and a good time but it wasn't where i wanted to be. The thought that my girl friend was at home dealing with family issues and i was out in god's country enjoying the wildlife, the pretty sunrises, the cold mornings, hearing the birds start to talk in the morning, the cool breeze and the simply amazing sunsets while she was at home dealing with drama in her family made me sick and depressed. I would have given up seeing all the deer, birds and everything just to have had her by my side.
