A friend of mine has a 30,000 acre ranch in Eastern Washington and is looking to lease it out to four bowhunters. For the last several years he's been leasing to a group of eight rifle hunters and they kill some ENORMOUS bucks there. You're guranteed to see some big deer, I suspect you'll be on nice deer every day until you kill one.
This is a BIG contiguous piece of property and you will have it to yourselves for the month of September. He's a full time rancher and will show you some pretty amazing deer, and some gorgeous country. You're also welcome to kill bears, lions, coyotes, upland.... if you happen to find some, which is pretty likely. Or bring your horses...whatever.
If anyone's interested the price is $2300, He's likely to give a discount if you have multiple guys.

Enormous mule deer or whitetail? Eastern Washington is a big area, can you be a little more specific?

I might be down with it if there are a few others, and the price is reasonable, but not for $2300 a person.

Now I dont live in WA yet, but I plan on it soon. Is $2300.00 really too much to hunt 30,000 acres? Here in MN I am paying $15 an acre for 100 acres and that is on the cheap side. Just curious what I could expect when I do get out there.

Guess that depends on whether you like to lease land or hunt public land. There is a lot of public land here to hunt, so paying $2300 to hunt seems nuts to me, but I am sure it is worth every penny for the right person. Some of the BEST property is lease only.

$2300 would be a reasonable price, if you talking about 365 day access for hunting, not if your talking about Sept only deer hunting, IMO. Of course guys pay quite a bit more then that on a guided hunt on leased or private protery for a week hunt, so it may be to someone like that and actually cheaper then a guided trip.

You can hunt deer on over 20,000 acres in KS or MO for about $800 for the year. I used to belong to a hunting club, it's smaller chunks of land from 100 acres all the way up to 4500 acres. You buy your deer lease and call in and reserve a piece of property for the day and your the only one on it for the day/s you reserve it. When I was a member it was 40,000, in MO and KS combined, and there were only 12 of us who bowhunted, it was heaven and for only $500 a year it was a heck of a deal. Back then it was all species, and fishing as well, lots of largemouths ponds. They have since changed it a bit, but it is still a good deal, you can bowhunt down there for almost 4 months and take several deer and some real whoppers!

Here are some pictures. It's broken shrub steppe country with lots of deep canyons and breaks that hold deer and bear. I think it's still available.

why would someone pay 2300 dollars a person that crazy 500 sure 1000 maybe but that just to much 2300 for the rights is understandable but not per person.

Fellas there are thousands of guys going this fall on guided hunts for $5000+ for a weeks hunt. There are guys paying $1800 for drop camp hunts for a week. It's a tad high IMO, but not way high for a month of hunting on private property. Depending on how close it was to me, if it was $2300 for the year, I think I'd be all over it.

Unless it holds B&C bucks in all those draws in the pics....it is too much! And also limited to Sept. Archery only....that makes it kind of a tough sell. There are leases a guy can get involved with all over the state of MT. for far less if you dig around a bit. I think you would be surprised. Guys want to have an option to hunt Mule Deer, Whitetail, possibly Elk or Antelope....not to mention the chance to hunt whatever season they apply for, especially rifle. Nothing like huntin' those Muleys in E. MT. in mid-November.

There are lots of big bucks and bears on this property. Most of us never get 30,000 acres to ourselves, it's a chance to have a big uninterupted piece of ground to stomp around w/out worrying about seeing another guy. If it's not for you that's fine, but it is probably going to be a great deal for someone.

Those types of river breaks can be some of the best hunting in E wash, BUT also can be some of the toughest areas to hunt, especially in Sept, the plus side is they probably haven't been bothered by people much.

Now if you were a rifle hunter I would seriously consider it. But hey it's only money!

$2300/hunter is not a bad price if the animals are there. I hunt a ranch in Montana that is close to 30,000 acres now that my friends lease to an outfitter. The outfitter charges $5,500/hunter so this is half the price. Its all relative, to some this is a drop in the bucket or weekly play money.

If the critters are there like described its really not a bad deal, you have to remember these animals are probably not pressured or have been pushed to this area thinking they are safe.

I've never paid somebody to hunt on their property, and never will. Fix a fence, help paint a barn, trade them a few vegetable out of the garden, or some home made wine, sure. But that is the problem with hunting theses days, everybody sees dollar signs.

Truly the price is not all that bad, but I would only do something like that if I had it for the entire season and was able to hunt both the bow and rifle seasons.

They have a group of eight rifle hunters that are really great. There is no MZ season there, but the bow season is pretty good.

2300 is a lot of money, but not out of reach for a lot of people. You can hunt the public land adjacent to it and deal with a few other guys, but you're still hunting for almost free and still have a chance at deer.

$2300 is cheap if the animals are there and the rancher is willing to show you around and you can hunt bear too. A whole month of hunting 30,000 acres with just 3 other guys is priceless. I am far from rich but if I were hunting archery this year I would be all over this.

It looks it could be a good opportunity for someone willing to spend the money...but I'd want to see the property, some animals, and some references before I threw $2,300 down just so I could cross the fence onto their land.

I've hunted huge expanses of land and never run across another hunter, or fresh boot track. The desire to hike a few steps further than the next guy makes more sense in my mind...but I've always been kinda frugal.

It would prob take a month to cover the 30,000 acres. Been on a 20,000 acres ranch that a friend hunts and thats alot of ground to cover

Guys, I went there and spent most of a day driving around with the fellow that owns it. OMG There are bucks like you can't believe and yes 30000 acres is a huge chunk of land. However, the guy knows every square inch of it and would do everything he could to help a hunter or hunters get the buck of a life time.

It is a oasis and until you go there you would never guess it's there. If it weren't for the other tags I got drawn for and work, I would have snatched it up straight away.

Mulies not Whitetail, I have video of over 20 + big bucks in velvet from a month ago on that property.

If you have the dough, it would be well worth your time.

This is for sure too much $$.

Drop camps in WA run around $800; guided "primo" archery whitetail hunts for P&Y bucks are about that much.

People that are talking about everybody else spending more other places may be correct, but in WA it is not the same table.

2300 dollars for one deer. Not if the "animals" are there, if "the" animal is there. I think 2300 is way too much for 1 deer.
