Bird stamp shortage?
« on: October 16, 2010, 12:21:07 PM »
Went to the USPS today to get my migratory bird stamp. I know I should have been out there today  :guns: After I stood up in line for 10 minutes :bash: I got to the counter and the lady says :I'm sorry it looks like we are out ...... :'(   .I've asked who else might sell them around here and she said she doesn't know. Any of you guys buy on line or ???? any other places where to get them easy around Renton or Stanwood (I'm working over in Stanwood right now) .
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

You might check around at Outdoors stores/Gun shops.  Many of the places that sell licenses also have stamps that they sell at cost as a curtesy.  I know Wholesale Sports in Burlington had them a while back.  I'd call first though.

Each location only carries "X" amount, so if everyone hits it, it's likely they will run out.  You might have to hit a few locations.  Wal Mart is always a good one to hit.

Thanks again for all your help guys ,Yep I went to Walmart in Renton and they had last 7 stamps ,so I got mine . They also had some cheap camo caps, pants, shirts, burlap and real tree blind material .So I'm set .I only wish I could have someone take me deer hunting ,but I'm sure it will happen some day in my lifetime .

I bought mine online, but I don't think you actually need the actual stamp on you, I could be wrong, but it has it on one of my licenses that said I bought it, should be enough for a gamey if he decides to check you.

it sounds as if you have the "state" migratory stamp...You also need a "federal" stamp either affixed to your license or in your posession, it also needs to be signed.. The only exemption is if you are a youth...

:yeah: I don't think you can buy the federal stamp online, but I could be wrong. You have to sign the stamp for it to be valid. My bro-in-law a few years back thought he got a free one cuz when you go and by the state validation they don't give you a stamp but you can get one sent to you if you really want one. He took it as being the fed. stamp and I argued with him a few times and finally just gave up and every time we went to the snake river hunting I was kind of hoping he would get checked.
