You guys need to get over the conspiracy theories... ;)  I ensure you they are your typical mushroom pickers.  These guys get pretty territorial over their mushroom patches and I'm sure they are either trying to keep their honey hole a secret or trying to avoid the forest service permit.  A good mushroom patch can yield $1000's of dollars a day if you hit it just right.  I know the exact spot where this camera is hung and the entire drainage in that area is well known by the mushroom pickers.

It is still strange even if they are mushroom pickers.

So do you know the O.P. and where his camera is or do you recognize the area from the picture?

Yep. shroom pickers. They have racks in those packs to haul mega loads without crushing them. They cruise in early to get the best spots. Just like Hunters. Imagine that. Lol

They were all over the Skok this weekend. Lots of Bear baiters and pot harvesters everywere! Lol

i know my nieghbors pick mushrooms at night. and never ever go out without a gun. the people who pick mushrooms for a living like my nieghbors get very violent if they catch you in their spot. so now they only pick at night to avoid being caught in other peoples spots

:dunno: people get crazy over some dumb stuff

I think too that mushrooms, being white, show up nicely at night when using a flashlight.

If those guys are high on meth, they could pick all night and still not be sleepy.

Unless you have picks of them looking directly at the camera, they may have mistaken a flash for the other guy's flashlight.  Maybe they didn't see the camera.  At least it is fun to speculate.

Yep...I know the O.P. and I know exactly where his camera is located, it is a pretty fair distance for a mushroom picker but the competition for a good honey hole is stiff these days.

I had no idea "shrooming" was that big.  What do you suppose that first guy is carrying?

It looks like a styrofoam box to me, but I have seen large mushroom containers that have stack or slide in racks to keep them from smashing the mushrooms.

Crazy pics for sure but I'd guess shroomers also.  Is there a chantrelle "season" or best time to pick them?  I came across an area that was loaded with them during hunting season but wasn't positive on the ID until I got home and looked it up.

It is the season. That guy has slide in racks with a white sheet wrapped around it to keep mushrooms inside once full. The blue thing is a tarp to keep them dry.

The season is gangbusters this year. Lots of Mushrooms! Its a bit wet right now. Need a couple days of dry weather. I statred finding them this year in Augest. They will be gone when the first couple good freezes happen.
