Most years the snow should not be a problem.

I was thinking about trying that season too. It may not be the best year with whitetail deer numbers way down due to the last couple of bad winters we had.

I did last year and shot a 4 point whitetail, nothing special, but my first deer with the muzzleloader.  Access varies based on snow fall.  And a couple access points are restricted as they are big game winter range starting on 12/1.

Deer numbers are way down after the two hard winters. There can be a lot snow to where it is difficult to get around or very little snow, depends on the year. You will probably see moose, cougar and bobcat tracks or animals. There are wolves in there also. I have seen one of the largest if not the largest white tail buck I have ever seen.

There is a lot of public land, but some private scattered around in it after you get above the valley bottom. Should be no problem finding hunting land, but maybe hard to find deer.

I hunted the late season a couple years ago. Saw some tracks. Didn't see any animals. The snow wasn't bad. We drove all the way over the mountains and came out on the Idaho side.

I haven't been seeing many deer this year.  Not sure if it is weather, the area, I am hunting, but the sign is not good.
