The pick was from late muzzy last year.  i have the multi-season tag again this year, but I am pretty sure that I will be concentrating my efforts in one of the archery units that seems to be holding more deer.

I have a regular muzzy tag so i will probably head out there if i can. I hunted outside Chesaw for the early season and saw some nice deer but couldn't get close enough. the one occasion i had a shot at about 45yds on a decent 4pt. it let me fire four caps off at it before i gave up went back to camp and found a little piece of pipe cleaner in the nipple :bash: discharged just fine after removing it.

I didn't see a deer during early muzzleloader up there.  Only hunted Saturday though.

Keep in mind that part of that unit closes dec 1. due to big game wintering range.    A lot of the area I wanted to hunt last year was in the big game wintering range.

Still a lot of good country, but wanted to make sure that you knew that.

Lots of cool area to hunt, access is great, i.e. public vs private.  Deer numbers are down, and it can be really thick brush.  That said, some nice white tails in there somewhere.

I usually hunt 113 for deer during M/L season. I have taken one Mully out of it. The deer count is down was over in the 111 scouting for Elk and seen only a handful of White tails. Her is a pic of the Mule deer from 2007.

I didn't see that in the regulations. Is it posted at the site?

That is probably a National Forest closure so it wouldn't necessarily show up in the hunting regulations. You might find information about it on the National Forest website.

I always have a archery tag so cant hunt that unit in the late.
The deer numbers are down for sure, that being said.
Here are some pictures of some bucks in that area earlier this year.

What Bobcat said is the answer I got when I called the WDFW last year about it.  I asked last year on the phone if that meant it couldn't be hunted on foot, whether or not it just meant no driving, etc.  Her response said that it was "closed", she didn't expand.  So I took it to mean "closed".  There are some similar Colville National Forest closures in 49 degrees North, but I haven't dealt with those.  I assume they mean the same.  Maybe Alwinearcher can tell us more as I would assume that is where he would hunt based on the Archery tag and deer park native.   Yes it is posted on certain roads and defines a specific area nearest the Kalispel Reservation.

I've seen a lot of sign, (deer, elk, turkey,) but have only seen grouse. My brother saw a bear there, and we both saw a bear standing in the road on the indian reservation.

People I have talked to said the Le Clerc creek deer numbers are down. A side note, be carefull driving thought the reservation. There cop stopped me for going 2 mph over the limit, when I hit the slow down warning area by the headquarters, and 1 mph over after.

I got this whitie in 06 up the Le Clerc creek road, he's not the biggest by any means, but he was my 1st muzzy buck.  I saw alot of deer that year. There was alot of snow as well. I think the evening temps dropped down into the single digits.  The following year I hunted the same area. Didnt see anything, however I was able to rattle one in. didnt see it just heard it i think it winded me.  Fun hunt, I think the weather has alot to do with success
I read it on the internet, its gotta be real
