Muley Buck Down
« on: October 18, 2010, 06:40:13 PM »
Went out hunting with my 5 year old on Sunday morning. Parked at the gate and started walking at first light. We got to a good place to sit and watch. My son spots a doe at the top of the mountain, and insists that we need to hike to the top because there must be a buck with her. So we get to the top and nothing is around. Started glassing some of the dark timber and see some deer feeding. Finally see one with horns and verify it has at least 3 points. Picture tells the rest. Nothing could be better than sharing that trip with my son. Two long backpack trips out with the meat, and we were eating backstraps for dinner.

agreed.
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Congrats for making a lifelong memory there dad.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
