Recovered my deer bullet// pics

I just checked on their site and they claim 60-70% weight retention. I think it was a few years ago that I saw the 85% claim.

Nope.

The Partitions are designed to retain 2/3 of their weight. This bullet performed EXACTLY as advertised.

But this is an Accubond. We got off topic and started babbliing about the partition. This bullet is an accubond

The Accubond is designed to retain 60-70%,so the bullet still perfromed exactly like it was supposed to.

Interesting. I would have thought it would have retained more but like I said it's blown right through everything I've shot with it this year and i've been impressed.

Have you shot any elk sized critters with that rig? I thought about rebarreling my 7-08 to 260.

No. I've shot 1 bear, 2 deer, and 2 Antelope with the 260. My daughters have shot 4 deer with the 260. It's just a wrecking ball. I would not hesitate to shoot an elk at 300 yards or less with it. I absolutely love the 260 for it's hitting power, penetration, and lack of recoil. It's awesome.

What range would you limit yourself on deer?

Well if I thought I could hit the deer I'd take the shot but my personal max range would be about 400 yards whether I was shooting a 260 or a 30-06. I wouldn't worry that the bullet would do the job I'd worry that I'd make the shot. 330 or closer and it's as good as  dead though.
