nephews first deer
« on: October 18, 2010, 08:15:54 PM »
Took My nephew on a hunt saturday morning....hiked out early and were sitting at first light watching some draws in the open sage. ten minutes before shooting light I found horns on this deer down the draw feeding up towards us. deer moved behind a hill and I set my nephew up ready to shoot. we were freezing our butts off by this time I couldnt hold my binos still. the sweat had chilled our backs and our extra clothes were in our backpack but I didnt want to risk any noise. I told my nephew to rub his arms and hands while we waited and finally about 7:05 this buck came out broadside 150 yards away. he made a beautiful shot drilled him and the buck made it about 25 yards. couldnt ask for a more perfect opprotunity on a beautiful animal.

Congratulations to both of you!!!  Kudos to those that take a youngster hunting and actually let them do the hunting.
