His son spotted a nice buck and got him on one. its not illegal to carry a gun The point wasn't that it is illegal to carry a gun numbnuts. He was not wearing Orange as required by the hunting regulations. If you are going to wave a flag and say look at me,,, it's best not to have your zipper down---know what I mean?Quote from: bobcat on October 22, 2010, 09:51:58 PMThe orange hat SHOULD be enough. He doesn't look like a deer to me. Plus he's with other people who also have orange on. Would be pretty hard to mistake that group of hunters for a herd of deer. Sometimes, I think common sense should be all we need to follow. Yes I wear my orange, but certainly don't agree with the law.The orange hat isn't enough per the regs.I don't need orange to tell it is not a deer. I hunted all week seeing nimrods with no orange. Got to see some citations handed out for wearing just a hat or no orange at all. watched a guy almost lose a deer over it.If you are going to post your stories and pics, make sure you are legal.

Point is it's kind of ridiculous to try to accuse someone of breaking laws just from looking at a picture.
Another thought... from looking at the pictures you don't know if he's actually "hunting." So he's carrying a rifle, yes, but you don't have to wear orange for carrying a rifle in the woods. Only if you are hunting. I'm not sure how you'd prove to a game warden that you weren't hunting though. But I think if the rifle is unloaded you could say you were not hunting. Just like once you kill an animal and notch your tag, you aren't hunting anymore and can take the orange off. Point is it's kind of ridiculous to try to accuse someone of breaking laws just from looking at a picture.
The point has been made, he should have had his orange on becuase he was in an open modern firearm deer or elk season, and he had the tags for these animals... we get it... don't say you have never broken a law ... quit being a dick.

The hunter said and I quote" I'm just walking in the woods".The gamie said" if you are armed, you are presumed to be in the act of hunting, during an open season.By the way, the guy had already tagged out.He was sighted for No HOHunting mod. season without a tagThe pics of him #1 and #4 are of him hunting. He is using binos to look for deer." He had taken it off for a while when we were spotting" there is no vest visible in the pics, especially #4As I said before, someone will make excuses for him not following the rules.

Thank you. Holy crap! I'm not going to make any excuses as to when he had it on, or not. YES he should have had it on ALL DAY LONG, so dicks like you wouldn't nitpick everylittle thing. Whoopdy friggin doo, he did take his shirt off OH YA when we were hiking and he didn't have his blaze orange shirt on, his backpack had a blaze orange section that is 12" by 30" so add that up, and his hat...Is he Legal now??? Thanks Pathfinder!
