Nope, Fir Island. Near Mount Vernon. Hunted there before, killed snow geese there. Seen flocks of 60,000 in the fields.

was that before they removed the dikes for the resto program and flooded out the fields?

Only a matter of time before the dumb asses get the dikes blown on Fir Island and the flooding starts.  Salmon restoration?  Pull the nets and you will have salmon restoration.

saw some flocks come thru, nothing landing yet... ***kicks ground impatiently***
catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

I don't even want to get started on that. last year when the record pink run was coming through the puyallup they changed the law 1/2 through the season making it illegal for non-tribal members to fish sunday afternoon-tuesday because there was too much conflict between fishermen and netters. I wonder why...

Ive seen a bunch of birds flying this past week! I have permition on some property out on fir island and was wondering are Texas rags considered  "decoys" by the new regs? i have had a couple people tell me that shells or full bodies are the only decoys that i can use now.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.

from the regs:

Quote
It is unlawful
to hunt snow geese on Fir Island, Skagit County, inland of surrounding
dikes, unless each hunter sets up a minimum of 24 snow geese decoys.
Additionally, it is unlawful to hunt snow geese over decoys unless the
decoys are set up in a realistic pattern, are under the immediate control of
the hunter, and are not left unattended. For the purposes of this section
a "decoy" is defined as any structure the size of or larger than a mallard
duck decoy. A violation of this section is punishable under RCW 77.15.400.

If you are throwing out your own deeks,  and they are rags, you'll have far more than 24, right? I think the big issue is they don't want people out there on 5 gallon buckets pass shooting off the road.  I think the rags are "probably" fine. they are afterall a snow goose decoy, that's their intention.
