wow that sucker is big.  cant wait till they got a season and i can slay one of those. got just the spot on the wall for my first wolf rug. hopefully idaho gets the boat rocked enough to get them de-listed asap!  ive got bullets waiting and theyre out there, no need for an out of state tag now!

It just sucks. I'm kinda torn cause I am a sportsman to the bone and am definitely anti-poaching of any kind, but i can't say i won't take care of the next one I see. I just want the deer heard there to flourish and to be protected. I love seeing deer and deer hunting I mean I love animals just as much as the next guy. For most of us it's a family tradition that goes back generation as it has in my family. Those deer have so many things working against them already it sadden me.

The pics and story should be reported to the WDFW even if you think they won't do anything about it. It's one simple step we have to take to work towards delisting. It's also not the 1st time someone on here has spoke of wolves there.

Spent several days in the area between Colville & Chewelah looking for WT.  Last two years we have hundreds of deer and this year it was a total bust.  Spent a lot of time talking to other hunters and locals and Wolf word kept coming up.  Spoke with a taxidermist from the area and he said this has been the worst ever for deer coming into his shop.

We pounded the mtn's on horses and boots a min of10 - 12 miles a day and saw little if no sign that the deer have even been in that area.  Saw plenty of moose sign.

What a strange experience.  Anybody else hunt the area this year?  What was your experience?

Wolves are up around metaline falls and le cler creek.
But the winter kill has been ruff on the deer up north the past few years
so just add wolves and we get no deer

Looks like one hell of a big coyote to me with a fresh winter coat :P  Why SSS, I say SS, why waste time to get caught shoveling, just shoot and shut up.  Instead you did not shoot and definitely did not shut up; I don't blame you, is it worth the risk, probably.  Sounds like we get to have at her in Idaho.  Even with the non-enforcement we will never see the end of them without poison and trapping.  Too bad the old timers had to work so hard to eradicate them only to have the greenies bring them back.

Wasn't there a thread about wolves in the Jack Creek area too?  I don't know how often they howl, but me and my brother heard the wolves and saw tracks in the Twisp River area about 5 years ago and they are no doubt unmistakable...it would seem that the wolves in the Teanaway have no chance of avoiding encounters like this based on different user groups frequenting the area, it is no where near as remote.  Were they howling during the chase?  Some relatives of ours saw wolves in the same area we heard howling and they were very vocal during the chase.
