Chelan County Success
« on: October 24, 2010, 11:40:23 PM »
Had some luck in the Chiwawa Unit this year. Didn't sound like anyone else was doing any good. Our shots were the only ones we heard all weekend. The full moon probably had something to do with it. My uncle killed his buck on Friday morning and I got mine at 9:00 this morning bedded down on the edge of the brush. My dad and I spotted him at almost 600 yards and I made a stalk on him. I got within 100 yards and made the easy shot via shooting sticks. Glad I got to tag out on the last day. Such a relief. I wish everyone good hunting.

Rock on.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

great looking bucks, I only see one problem, the biggest one is probably going to taste like sh-t seeing that the hide has been on it for a few days.  :bdid:

Both hides were taken off on the same day of the kill. I hear ya on leaving the hides on for too long. We had that unfortunate experience several years ago. The meat wasn't very good.

Great buck's! Good work. I don't think it was coolenough to leave hid's on I do agree with that. Hope they turn out O.K. Nice deer.

The last picture may be a little confusing. We only have the head of my uncle's deer in that picture. We halved my buck and had just got back to the cabin, so we were comparing his buck's antlers to mine. The body you see behind his buck's head is the back half of my buck.

Yeah, I wasn't sure why people were saying the hides were left on ???   I didn't see anything to indicate that.
