That is a horrible waste....No excuse for shooting a 2x1 especially cause they probably just shot it then checked for a 3rd point...then walked away! As for the 3x4....most likely some guys nightmares right there! I personaly have found a couple like that....mostly during the old late muzzy cow hunts! Though I did find a huge 6x6 bull once with 3 shots in it during a muzzy season! Hate to see it........

Was it possible that this was the same group of guys that shot both of these animals?

I agree about the 3X4, if they were poachers, or just shooting for fun, they would have taken the rack.  Some guy probably lost sleep over this one.  Doesn't make it right, bad shots do happen.

Why would you even shoot at that little 2X1?  a-holes

That completely ticks me off. I just spent 6 days chasing Mulies around hill sides, wheat fields and sage brush. Could taken about a dozen 2pts (in a 3pt min. area) but never had one slight bit of a thought of squeezing the trigger unless I was damn sure it was legal. Don't get me wrong I had an awesome time and wouldn't trade it for anything but pictures like this make me sick. Not sure which one pisses me off more. Guys "shot checking deer" or someone not wanting to put the effort into tracking down a wounded animal, and thats a damn nice Buck!
