Ruger M77 Hawkeye--- need new recoil pad
« on: October 25, 2010, 03:19:30 PM »
so the factory recoil pad is peeling off of my hawkeye, its not affecting the functionality of the rifle but its annoying and looks like crap.  i did a search on several gun parts sites, midway cabelas etc. and only found pads that i found were said to fit the old tang safety m77's will those pads fit the new m77 hawkeye?

thanks in advance
steve

Limbsaver makes one that will fit.  The best in my opinion.
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

Limbsaver is my hands down choice for pads.  Their pre fit models seem to be ok, but don't expect them to be perfect.
Nothing witty here.... move along.

Also look at Pachmayr Decelerators. Limbsavers are made here in Washington so go with them if you can. (at least I think they are made here- the company is based out of Shelton- anybody know?)

Get a hold of Ruger. I bet they'll replace it free of charge.

I put one on a synthetic hawkeye, it fit and looked as good as the factory.
