Actually I think the arrow broke upon release. Always flex those carbon shafts!

I have seen this picture or another just like it and that was the case. The carbon arrow exploded on release and the back half of the arrow went right into the hand or forearm. Leaves an absolutely nasty wound with carbon fibers stuck all over in it. Always check your carbons prior to shooting, especially your practice arrows. One of the main reasons I switched to Full Metal Jackets.

i ended up with only one small little bigger than a needle size piece through my pointer finger. but that is just horrible. talk about developing a flinch right there.
