Knight Bighorn, loads and sights
« on: March 31, 2008, 11:59:27 AM »
Since this is just one of a few M/Ls out there that is legal in WA.  Was just wondering what have you guys found to be the perfect load for hunting deer and elk?

Reason being, I'm going to buy the M/L in a week or two but I'm deployed and will not be back until the middle of OCT.  I will not have anytime to work on that perfect load.  Need some good information to set me straight...

Also, have any of you guys upgraded the sights from iron?

Thanks Pete

All is well here in the big blue pacific....
GO NAVY!!  HMC Ret.

Pete,
How's the fishing out there? Do a search here and I think you will find a lot of discussion on this subject. I use 100 grains of 777 with a powerbelt, but am going to try some different loads because I have my suspicions on the powerbelts. I'll let you know what i find out. As far as sights, I changed my rear sight back to iron from the fiber optic. I found the fiber optic too bright or close together making both the front and rear sight  blend together. That's just my experience. Good luck!

Hey PNW, first of all thank you for your service to our country. On your question about the Bighorn, IMO great great gun, you wont be disappointed. I have 2 of them and out of both the plain 310 grain Knight sabot  with 100grs 777 give me great groups. I have the original sights on one and on the other i have a Williams peep sight.BTW check on line auctions for them, my second one I picked up brand new,in the box for 145 bucks. My only bitch about them is the short stock, but Im looking for the thumbhole version, abit longer an seems to fit me better. Hope this helps. Stay safe.
