Blacktail buck down

So went out this morning and was able to get a fast shot at my biggest blacktail to date.  Kinda new to this timber ghost hunting, shot plenty of whitetail and mule deer, so it kinda became personal.   Not saying I got this style of hunting figured out but we'll see if I can repeat next year.     Got this weekend and late buck to try and guide my boy and future son-in-law to success.  Meat in the freezer.
Thanks to all for helping this eastern washington transplant with all the good advice.  Gonna taste good.

Thanks guys,They seemed to be kicking around a little this morning, caught him crossing in some reprod. Keep after them, I think I put more miles on the boots this year than any other chasing blacktail, cruised timber and snuck reprod and creeped the brush.  Finally got one that I knew was around.  could say skill, but that remains to be seen.

Already ate a couple, quite tasty, wild doesn't bother me.  Grew up on wild game of all kinds, even some most are shocked I've ate.  The other two were little fellas tho, this one was heavy, not sure of weight but felt heavier than 150.  Could be I am just getting older.    Definitely rutty for sure, head looked like a peanut on top of a fencepost.  He was nose down and cruising just had a snap shot then he would have been gone.  He was definitely looking for some romance, was starting to smell pretty good.  isn't it a little early for that?

Good luck Fanatic,    They were in the thick today, but that's normal  .  More like rabbit hunting.  Now I'm getting stoked for elk.  One more week (and a couple days) then hopefully Bang Flop!  Hope to see the boy get a shot this weekend at a buck.  I think that would get his blood flowing and maybe make hunting almost as exciting as girls.
