Kwik Kamp Wall Tents
« on: October 28, 2010, 12:16:38 PM »
Has anyone else bought a wall tent through Kwik Kamp?

I purchased my tent through them last year before huntin season and took it out during.  Everything was great and it help up through some seriously nasty winds.  I was very happy with my purchase.

This year we didn't have as much luck.  We were setting up the tent, frame erected and canvas pulled over, when a huge blast of wind came up over the hill and picked the tent up off the ground.  We manged to get it down thankfully but it landed hard and bent a few poles.  No big deal, we straightened them as best we could and started the process of staking down the tent.  Before we did that, we zipped the door shut and started to secure the fasteners.  When we got about halfway down the door, the canvas ripped at the seam, over two foot tear.

I have a few questions.  Are poles easily made by going to local home improvment store and buying steel and cutting to size?  As for repairing the canvas, what can I do?  Duct-tape will only hold so long!!!!

I called Kwik Kamp for help and the lady told me she needed to look up my oder and she would call me back.  That was 3 days ago.  Trying to to get a hold of them is nearly impossible.  The phone rings busy 99% of the time.  Heard of voicemail or call-waiting, geesh!?!?!?   :bash: :bash: :bash:  Horrible customer service if you ask me.  I'm not blaming them for my tent issues, but figured they could help or offer suggestions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Me and 6 other good buddies are heading to Montana in a couple weeks and I would like to get this fixed as quickly as possible, otherwise, it may be a case of duct-tape.

I'd bet that an upholstery shop could stitch that tear up. I'm sure there's an automotive upholstery shop down your way, but if not you could call Greg at Sunmark Upholstery in Bellevue at 425-821-2400. I betcha he'd be able to get you fixed up. Tell him Josh from Dodge sent you.

For anyone in the Tacoma ara, I've had mine repaired at Tacoma Tent & Awning.  They do great work, are pretty fast and reasonably priced.  Glad you're able to get it back in time for the big trip, Buck.
