What did she shoot the horn off on one side.. ?    That is a big bodied deer.. You better get him turned into breakfest sausage old buck, i bet he taste like $hit..

If you cant beleive the scale Im sorry. Yes it was weighed and the scale is very accurate. Look at the picture on the tractor, the scale is there  I took the game cart in to bring it out with and when I saw the big bodie on him I decided it would be a good one to keep the guts in.  Like I said, 220 live, 175 gutted, 145 hanging meat. Oh and the nose to base of tail measurement was 68 inches wich is a big number for people that understand taxidermy measurements. Neck was 24 on the meat at the swell, 7 inch eye to nose. Oh and my buddy killed a 4 point 2 days latter that weighed 200 live, 160 gutted. Not near as long but was pretty stalky.

 

Did you actually weigh the deer or estimate. Nice deer regardless.

Thanks for the kudos guys. Yes he is pretty tough, wife had some tenderloin for breakfast yesterday and they were tough ...... not good if the tenderloins are tough

Thanks man ! I appreciate that. I did the same thing you said when I got up there to the wife. She had told me on the phone he was a mature buck but tiny rack. Ya.. when I got up to him I said to the wife "Thats a 200 pound deer right there " Then when we tried to drag him uphill and got nowhere I said " I think he is heavier than 200  We only had to go 120 yards to the cart but it was uphill but not steep. It was a grunt and pull type "drag". I would get in front, grab both horns and pull as the wife pushed on his ass. Im sure we looked like a couple monkeys you know whating a football , but we got it to the cart 2 feet at a time

Nice buck!   What type/brand scale are you using?  It's hard to tell by the photo but..  I have one that looks really similar to yours and I'm wondering how accurate it really is.  Got mine at Cabela's and it has a diagram on the bottom that shows live weight vs. dressed weight vs. hanging meat and I've always wondered how accurate it is.. Its never good to admit your meat taste good, means you got a dink.. so its an honor to say your meat taste like *censored*, means you got a bruiser!..  Just just put a little Johny's on it, that usually makes everything a little better, and if that dont work break out the bottle of Ketchup & it will taste like a million bucks!..

Hey KimberRich, Thats the same scale I have . In fact I just went out and hung from it just to double check and it is spot on with my bathroom scale so I would say it is pretty accurate
