I just helped my brother do exactly the OPPOSITE. His "new" Rem 700 trigger was so light it was going off when closing the bolt. Google around for problems with the Rem 700 trigger. From what I understand, and it's minimal....whatever you do, put nail polish, or glue gun stick, or something over the adjusting screw to keep it from backing out when you're done. Don't attempt any trigger adjustment unless you're fairly knowledgable about how it works. AND ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ADHERE TO THE 4 RULES WITHOUT EXCEPTION!!! Because it could go off unexpectedly.
