Goldendale deer?
« on: October 28, 2010, 07:26:39 PM »
I'm going deer hunting for the first time nov 6-13th. We heard from a friend that goldendale was a good spot to go. We scouted soda springs  area. anyone had any luck there so far this year? Is it muley's? or whitetails as well? Any info would be appreciated or good hunting land. Hoping to get a buck for my first time! Thanks.

You must have the coveted late Grey Back tag. Most of the unit is Blacktail, with some muley gene pool influence thrown in to produce some Bench legs. Good Luck.

yep got to be the grey back tag  thats a good tag 4 sure. the rut is kicking in quick and you should be smack in the middle of it. if you put your time in you should have one heck of a hunt. x1000 on the private ground ;)

When I was a kid back in the early to mid 80's there used to be a modern firearm late season right around the week of Thanksgiving.  It was a MF general open season that lasted only a few days.  My dad and I went there 2-3yrs but I remember it being nearly all Mule deer.  The day before that late season opened we were out scouting around and I saw the biggest buck I've ever personally seen in my entire life.  It was up the road a few miles from the Lyle bridge.
