Camps in Winston Creek
« on: October 29, 2010, 11:29:03 AM »
Has anyone been up Winston Creek Lately? Was wondering if there is alot of camps for modern elk. Was up there during deer season and didn't see to many people or camps. But things change quick for elk season.

Port Blakely has locked their gates, and Weyco does not allow camping.  Need to find DNR land to free camp or Mossyrock campground

We have a camp already set up. Has been set up since opening weekend of deer. Just haven't talked to the pperson that has been staying there to see if it is filling up with people yet. Hopefully the locked gates will keep people out of there. Have no problem walking all day behind locked gates. Tried of jumping something and it going into a clearcut to have someone else shoot it. We are talking about always having a hunting parnter sit in the clearing while the rest push the timber.

Our camp has been up since the last weekend of September. Just spoke with my dad and he said there are a few camps showing up this weekend. I would guess by mid week should be filling up.
