5x4 Black tail down
« on: October 30, 2010, 02:56:46 PM »
After passing on a spike last Sat. and a 2x2 on Tues. I shot this 5x4 this morning (Sat.) My son and I were walking down this road at first light and something told me that we should be in a different area. We jumped back in the truck went down the road a few miles and saw this buck just walking through the thick brush about fifty yards off the road. i jumped out of the truck, made about a twenty yard stalk and put my sons 243 Savage on the deers' neck and he went straight down. We had no idea it was this big until we walked up to it. High fives and hugs followed. This is one day my son and I will never forget. Off to the meat shop and then the taxi.
