First gobbler of the year!!
« on: April 01, 2008, 04:58:42 PM »
Well, I've been at home sick for the past 2 days and started to feel better this afternoon.  I decided to get some fresh air, sit in my treestand and try to call up a coyote.  I call for a few minutes and wait.  After 3 or 4 minutes I see something moving 100 yards off to my left at the timbers edge.  It was 6 turkeys.  I havent seen them around here in a while.  One was a pretty nice tom that was showing was stuff in the sunshine.  I couldnt stand it so I hiked to the house and got my Grandpa's old box caller, 12 gauge and snuck down to the fence line.  After 10 minutes of calling the whole group are within 40 yards of me.  I squeeze off and bam, my first turkey in almost 25 years.  He has a beard that is close to 11".  I'm going to call Michelle about doing a full on mount for me.  Now I am planning on a trip to Republic this weekend to try for another one over there.  Maybe I can get a WA slam.  I will post pics later this evening after I get back from my kids ball game.

I hope your wife made alot for dinner tonight because there are enough point seeking suckers on here to ensure the game department will be there to measure the beard for you tonight.  ;)

Holy Balls!!!  Check today's date man!  Haahahaaaaa....   The only thing true about my story is that I have been sick for the past 2 days.  It is my attempt at an April fools joke.  I was wondering who would be the first to call me on it, I thought that it would be BTKR.

As I was reading, I was wondering if anyone would catch on that it had to be a fools joke.

Admit it Michelle, you were a tad concerned.

I have to admit that I was the first one to fall for it, but Bone straightend me out.

Actually the first thing I did was go look on the WDFW site at the regs to see when turkey realy started.  If PolarBear would have called me he was going to have to show me where it said that turkey was shot legal.

I was more concerned for him.  I knew that PolarBear was not the type to shoot something out of season and then post it on the forums.  I knew it was either April Fools joke or he made a big mistake.

Since I'm a April Fools I'm always on the lookout for tricky storys or pictures. It's hard to fool an April Fool. :ass:
