Where are all the decoy weights in Ellensburg!
« on: October 31, 2010, 09:09:44 PM »
Cant seem to find them. Bi-Mart, no shipment for three weeks. Ranch & Home dosent sell them. Trading post, they have 6 of the kind
I dont want for $5 per weight :yike: .

Where can I find some weights. Fishing weights are kind of pricey and are tough to secure to the decoy. If there is someone in the area that has a significant supply of weights i will buy them from you.

What kind of sporting goods stores are in the Yak? I dont know that area very well. Would be sweet if there is a sportsman's warehouse there.

Good hunting!

hey fishermanjoe... those egg weights (bigger ones) with the holes in them can be good. the Tanglefree caroline-rig decoy setup is basically exactly that, large egg weights with the decoy line through the middle. works very well.

if you get desperate you can use the lead weights that go on your tires...

Hit the tracks and pick up railroad spikes.  Eco friendly.  Or get a bag on concrete and dixi cups.  Make some eyes out of single strand electrical wire or metal coat hangers that your dry cleaning comes on.  Fill the dixi cups with concrete and add the eyes.  We used this in California on a hunting trip, since those guys don't like lead or so it seams.
If you have lead mold it up.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
